Played with two complete standard decks (104 cards total), this massive variant features a towering 9-row pyramid. Interestingly, despite having more cards to clear, many players find the Double variant slightly easier to win because the extra deck provides more options for making pairs.

How to Play Double Pyramid
The Setup
The game layout is a scaled-up version of the classic game:
- The Giant Pyramid: 45 cards are dealt face-up in a pyramid shape. The top row has 1 card, expanding down to a bottom row of 9 cards.
- The Double Stock: The remaining 59 cards are placed in a massive stock pile, ready to be drawn to help you find matches.
At the start of the deal, 45 cards are laid face-up to construct a large 9-row pyramid. Because this layout contains more overlapping cards, you must be careful not to trap key ranks. Only cards that have no other cards covering their bottom corners are considered “free” and available to be paired. The remaining 59 cards in the stock pile provide a deeper buffer to cycle through and find matches.
Card Values (Adding to 13)
Your goal is to remove all cards from the pyramid by pairing two uncovered cards that add up to exactly 13:
- Numbers 2-10: Face value
- Aces: 1 (Pairs with a Queen)
- Jacks: 11 (Pairs with a 2)
- Queens: 12 (Pairs with an Ace)
- Kings: 13 (Does not need a pair; simply click it once to remove it)
The Rules
- Making Matches: Select any two uncovered cards that sum to 13 to discard them. You can match two cards in the pyramid, or one from the pyramid and one from the waste.
In Double Pyramid, card values add up to 13 to make a match, just like in the classic version. For example, you can pair a 10 with a 3, or a 9 with a 4. As shown in the screenshot, selecting two uncovered cards that equal 13 discards them immediately, allowing you to gradually unpack the pyramid layout.
- Using the Stock: Draw cards from the stock pile to the waste pile. Use the top waste card to match with any free card in the pyramid.
- Winning: You win when all 45 cards in the giant pyramid have been cleared.

While having two decks gives you more options, you still need to be careful not to trap yourself:
- Remove Kings Immediately: Since a King is worth 13 on its own, it never needs a partner. Remove it the second it becomes uncovered.
Just like in standard Pyramid, Kings are worth 13 and can be clicked to discard them solo, as shown in the screenshot. Clearing Kings as soon as they are exposed is a critical strategy to unlock the rows above them without using up other valuable cards.
- Look for “Self-Solving” Pairs: Sometimes, two cards that add up to 13 will be right next to each other on the bottom row. Always remove these immediately to open up the rows above them.
- Track Your Missing Cards: In a regular game, if you need a 4 to match your 9, you know there are only four 4s in the deck. In Double Pyramid, there are eight 4s. If you haven’t seen many 4s yet, don’t panic—they are likely hiding in the stock pile.
- Match Within the Pyramid First: Whenever possible, match two cards that are currently in the pyramid rather than matching a pyramid card with a stock card. Every internal match eliminates two obstacles from the board instead of just one.
