How to Play Spider Solitaire 2 Suits
Understanding the Playing Area
The board layout of Spider Solitaire 2 Suits starts with ten columns. As shown in the layout screenshot, Spades and Hearts are dealt across the board, with only the top cards face-up while the remaining cards are kept face-down in the tableau and stock pile on the top-left.
A game of 2-Suit Spider Solitaire begins with the same tableau configuration as all other Spider variants: ten columns of cards. The first four columns on the left contain six cards, and the remaining six columns contain five cards, with only the top card of each column face-up.
Get to know the table’s zones:
- 1. The Stock: The remaining 50 cards are kept face-down in the stock pile in the top-left corner. When you run out of moves, click this pile to deal one new card to every column.
- 2. The Tableau: Ten columns where you sort and organize cards. Stacking cards here allows you to reveal the face-down cards underneath.

Moving cards in Spider Solitaire 2 Suits requires careful planning around “clean” (same suit) and “dirty” (mixed suit) sequences:
- Moving Sequences: You can only select and move a group of cards together if they are in descending numerical order AND belong to the exact same suit (e.g., you can move a Spade 8-7-6 block, but not a mixed Hearts/Spades 8-7-6 block).
- Valid Placements: You can place any card or valid sequence onto another card that is exactly one rank higher, regardless of suit (for example, you can place a 6 of Hearts onto a 7 of Spades).
- Dealing New Cards: When you are out of moves, deal a new row from the stock. You cannot deal cards if any column is empty.
Clearing the Board
A completed Hearts sequence cleared from the board. As shown in the clear illustration, once you form a complete suit run from King down to Ace (like Hearts), that entire column is swept from the board, giving you a valuable empty column.
To clear cards from the board, you must build a complete 13-card sequence in the same suit from King down to Ace. Once you place the Ace on the 2, the entire sequence (e.g., King of Hearts down to Ace of Hearts) is instantly swept from play.
Keep these goals in mind:
- Every cleared sequence gets you closer to winning and frees up a column. Empty columns can hold any card or sequence, allowing you to untangle mixed piles.
- You win the game by successfully assembling and clearing all 8 sequences (104 cards total).

- Build Clean Sequences (Same Suit): Always prioritize building sequences of the same suit. A clean sequence can be moved together, allowing you to easily access the cards underneath it.
- Use Dirty Sequences (Mixed Suits) as Temporary Storage: You will inevitably have to place a Heart on a Spade. Use these mixed-suit piles temporarily to expose hidden cards, but try to un-tangle them as soon as possible.
