What is Golf Rush Solitaire?

Golf Rush Solitaire (often searched by players as gold rush solitaire or solitaire golf free) is a modern, fast-paced enhancement of the classic Golf Solitaire card game. While the original version is notorious for being exceptionally difficult because sequences hit a “dead end” at Kings, Golf Rush removes this restriction. By allowing card ranks to wrap around continuously (placing Kings on Aces, and Aces on Kings), the game encourages massive, satisfying combos. This single change makes playing Golf Rush Solitaire online free highly rewarding, satisfying, and perfect for casual play. It is an outstanding unblocked free solitaire game for players who love quick, logical sequences directly in their browser.

How to Play Golf Rush Solitaire

If you enjoy patience golf games, the rules of Golf Rush are simple. For those familiar with patience golf solitaire, the game layout and setup of Golf Rush are identical to standard Golf. The main objective is to clear all 35 cards from the tableau columns and move them into the waste pile before the stock pile runs empty.

Understanding the Playing Area

Golf Rush Solitaire board showing 7 columns of face-up cards

The board layout is clean, simple, and matches classic Golf. As shown in the layout screenshot, the tableau is composed of 35 cards dealt face-up, with all of them fully visible. You can only draw and match the cards that are completely uncovered at the bottom of each column.

To clear the board efficiently, familiarise yourself with the three main zones:

  • The Tableau: 35 cards are dealt face-up into 7 columns, with 5 cards per column. Every card is visible, but you can only match the card resting at the bottom of each column.
  • The Stock Pile: The deck at the bottom left containing the remaining 17 reserve cards. Deal from here when you run out of moves.
  • The Waste Pile: The active target area next to the stock. This is where your sequences are assembled. The top card is face-up and serves as the matching value.

Making Matches & The Rush Wrap-Around Rule

Matching cards in Golf Rush Solitaire relies on a rank comparison that loops continuously. As illustrated in the move screenshot, you can clear a card from the bottom of a tableau column if it is one rank higher or lower than the waste card. In this variation, Kings and Aces are connected, enabling you to loop sequences infinitely without hitting a dead end.

Clearing the columns relies strictly on sequential matching:

  • One Higher or One Lower: You can click any exposed bottom card from the tableau and move it to the waste pile if it is exactly one rank higher or one rank lower than the top card of the waste pile.
  • Ignored Suits and Colours: A 9 of Clubs can be matched with a 10 of Diamonds or an 8 of Hearts. Only the rank matters.
  • The “Rush” Loop: Aces and Kings connect! You can place a King on an Ace, or an Ace on a King. This removes the classic blocking obstacle, allowing you to sustain long matching sequences like: Queen → King → Ace → 2 → 3 → 2 → Ace → King → Queen.

Drawing from the Stock

Drawing a card from the stock pile in Golf Rush Solitaire

When you can no longer find any valid matches on the board, draw a card from the stock. As shown in the stock draw illustration, clicking the stock pile flips a new card face-up onto the waste pile, giving you a fresh value to build new sequences.

  • Flip New Card: Clicking the stock pile deals a new card onto the waste pile, giving you a new starting point. You only get one pass through the stock pile—no redeals.
  • Freeing Cards: Removing the bottom card of a column immediately exposes the card above it, making it face-up and playable.

Winning Strategies for Golf Rush Solitaire

Because you can wrap around, your goal in Golf Rush Solitaire is to clear the board in as few draws from the stock as possible:

  • Look for Reversible Chains: A sequence like 5 → 6 → 7 → 6 → 5 is entirely legal. Scan the bottom row of your columns to see if you can “bounce” back and forth between cards to clear them all in one go.
  • Don’t Be Afraid of Kings: In classic Golf, Kings are obstacles. In Golf Rush, they are just another link in the chain. Use them to bridge Queens and Aces.
  • Always Calculate Before Clicking the Stock: Because the game is so forgiving, there is almost always a chain you are missing. Before you click the stock pile to draw a new card, double-check every single column.
  • Maintain Option Diversity: Try to clear cards evenly across all 7 columns. Keeping all columns active gives you the maximum number of potential matching choices at any time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Golf and Golf Rush?

In classic Golf, sequences stop at a King. In Golf Rush, the ranks wrap around (King on Ace, Ace on King), which makes it significantly easier to build long chains.

Are suits important in Golf Rush?

No. Just like standard Golf or TriPeaks, suits and colours do not matter at all. You only care about the number/rank of the card.

Is Golf Rush easier to win?

Yes, much easier! The ability to wrap around Aces and Kings removes the biggest roadblock from the classic game, drastically increasing your win rate.

What is the history and origin of Golf Rush Solitaire?

Golf Rush Solitaire is a modern digital variation of the classic Golf Solitaire. It was developed to increase the game pacing and sequence length by implementing wrap-around mechanics (Ace to King), resolving the traditional roadblock of King stoppers.

What other Golf games can I play?
