What is Putt-Putt Solitaire?
Putt-Putt Solitaire (sometimes referred to as mini-golf solitaire) is a highly entertaining, relaxed, and beginner-friendly variation of the classic Golf Solitaire card game. While standard Golf is notorious for its strict rules that block sequences at Kings, playing Putt-Putt Solitaire online removes this bottleneck completely. By introducing the wrap-around rule (allowing Kings and Aces to connect), the game enables you to build massive, satisfying combo chains. It ignores suits and colors, playing very fast and offering an incredibly high win rate. It is the perfect unblocked free solitaire game for a casual, relaxing break directly in your browser.

How to Play Putt-Putt Solitaire
Putt-Putt is played with a single standard 52-card deck. The main goal of the game is to clear all 35 cards dealt into the tableau and move them into the waste pile before your stock pile runs out of cards.
Understanding the Playing Area
The board layout is clean, simple, and matches classic Golf. As shown in the layout screenshot, the tableau is composed of 35 cards dealt face-up, with all of them fully visible. You can only draw and match the cards that are completely uncovered at the bottom of each column.
The main zones of the playing area are:
- The Tableau: Exactly 35 cards are dealt face-up into 7 columns of 5 cards each. You can see every single card on the board, but you can only play the exposed cards at the bottom of each column.
- The Stock Pile: The deck at the bottom left containing the remaining 17 reserve cards. Deal from here when you run out of moves.
- The Waste Pile: The active target area next to the stock. This is where your sequences are assembled. The top card is face-up and serves as the matching value.
Making Matches & The Wrap-Around Loop
Matching cards in Putt-Putt Solitaire relies on a rank comparison that loops continuously. As illustrated in the move screenshot, you can clear a card from the bottom of a tableau column if it is one rank higher or lower than the waste card. In this variation, Kings and Aces are connected, enabling you to loop sequences infinitely without hitting a dead end.
Key sequence rules include:
- One Higher or One Lower: You can select any exposed bottom card from the tableau and move it to the waste pile if it is exactly one rank higher or one rank lower than the top card of the waste pile.
- Ignored Suits and Colors: A 4 of Hearts can go on a 5 of Clubs, or a Queen of Diamonds can go on a Jack of Spades. Only the rank matters.
- The Loop (Wrap-Around Rule): Ranks do not end at Aces or Kings. You can place an Ace on a King, and you can place a King on an Ace. This allows you to build massive sequences, such as: Jack → Queen → King → Ace → 2 → 3 → 2 → Ace → King.
Drawing Cards
When you can no longer find any valid matches on the board, draw a card from the stock. As shown in the stock draw illustration, clicking the stock pile flips a new card face-up onto the waste pile, giving you a fresh value to build new sequences.
- Draw from Stock: If you are out of matches on the board, click the stock pile. A new card will be flipped face-up onto the waste pile, giving you a fresh card value to build sequences. Only one pass through the stock is allowed.
- Exposing Cards: As cards are cleared from the bottom of a column, the card resting immediately above it becomes exposed and playable.

Learn Winning StrategiesWinning Strategies for Putt-Putt Solitaire
Since Putt-Putt Solitaire allows wrapping around, it is highly winnable. Apply these strategies to clear the board consistently:
- Visualize the Longest Chain: Since all 35 cards are dealt face-up, look at the bottom cards of the columns and trace your sequence chain in your head before clicking. Aim to clear 5 or more cards per draw.
- Keep Column Heights Balanced: Avoid clearing out columns completely. A completely empty column doesn’t give you any advantage in Putt-Putt. It is better to have cards left in all 7 columns, which gives you 7 options for matching.
- Look for Buried Cards: Identify key card values that are buried deep in columns and prioritize clearing the cards blocking them.
- Don’t Rush Your Draws: Double-check every column before drawing a new card from the stock. Since there are no suit restrictions, a match is easily missed.
